Adult relationships are more important than you might think!
Dear Friends in Scouting,
I came across a webinar on a sociology study that i believe has implications on Scouting. In brief, Generation Z has been identified as being the loneliest generation right now and there are significant negative health effects as a result. The more meaningful relationships a young person has with adults, the better outcomes for young people - a reality that the various Scout program can, should and in many ways already capitalizes on. Scouting has probably known these facts for a long time, having good mentors as leaders in Scouting programs has always been a strength. This sociology study reinforces this fact and could be a good resource when promoting the values of Scouting.
I encourage you to watch this webinar. The need for adult mentors is extremely important and our Scout programs can be a wonderful place for healthy relationships to grow.
